THE LAND OF DEBORAH IS AN AWARD-WINNING SINGER-SONGWRITER WITH A UNIQUE TAKE ON
LIFE, LOVE AND THE PURSUIT OF FAIR TRADE CHOCOLATE
She has been described in the press as“...feel good folk-pop”
and as having “...one of the smoothest voices in the city”.
Audience members describe her music as "transformative" and "soothing".
Born and raised in England, Deborah is a world traveler who now calls Vancouver home. Her influences range from Simon & Garfunkel to ABBA to Joan Baez. Her musical style is in the vein of Sara Bareilles and Ingrid Michaelson.
Deborah's music has been heard on various shows across the Oprah Winfrey OWN Network as well as numerous independent movies. She has been nominated for and won several awards for her scoring work as well as her songwriting. 2016 was an epic year for a short film she scored, "Chaos Management" which won numerous "Best Short Film" awards around the USA and a "Best Director" nod for Michelle Muldoon.
Deborah has released 2 EPs and 2 full-length albums over the last few years and her next full length album will be out this summer. Whether solo, or with her band, The Land of Deborah is a comfy couch for the soul.
Her songs, like her shows, are a cornucopia of feel good, infectious tunes that are personal, eclectic and downright fun. You'll laugh, maybe cry, but you'll definitely leave the show feeling better than when you came in.
